Let’s Resist at the Wall!!!

IMG_6155

Greetings from YFL!!! We are open from Tuesday through Thursday of this week to ring in the New Year on your mat!!! Let’s resist at the wall this week. Using the wall as the tool and prop of resistance to enhance our alignment, power, and strength. Yin practice will emphasize the full range of motion of the spine.

The Sanskrit focus is “Santosha”, which is to focus upon that “golden thread” of contentment in ALL that we experience. Our mudra is “Dhyanya” to promote a connection to Universal Energy. Our meditation focus is “Contentment”, and is set to Kiran Murti’s “Divine Imagination”.

The next Meditation I, 5-week course, will begin on Tuesday, 1/10 @ 7:30. Kim’s next Mommy & Me will meet on 1/9 @ 11 a.m.  We require pre-registration and pre-payment ($10 for one child, $15 for two).  The next 200-hour Teacher Training session begins on 2/8. It will meet for 16 weeks, twice weekly (Wed from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and Sat from Noon-6 p.m.). Registration is OPEN through the end of January.

The first newsletter of 2017 will be ready to open on your email desk @ 10 a.m. on 1/1!!!

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis from YFL!!!

Hustle and bustle, mistletoe, and glitter!!! Enough!!! Come back to the mat, and let’s restore together this week!!! It is time to restore, renew, and relax!!! Our Sanskrit focus is “Bhakti”, or the path of devotion. Our hand gesture, or mudra focus, is the grounding mudra. We tend to have Vata imbalance this time of year, with a sense of flightiness, and discombobulation!!! This will help return us to being grounded and connected!!! Our meditation focus is to “Slow Down”, and will be set to Kiran Murti’s Divine Imagination.

Kim will be hosting Mommy & Me this morning from 11-Noon. The cost for mom and one child is $10, and two children is $15.

There is still ample time to get the gift of health-yoga or meditation gift certificates for YFL are always available, and Sophie has beautiful hand crafted eye pillows for $15.

The deadline for registering for the next Artistry of Yoga Teacher Training is this Friday, 12/16. All the details are on the our website. Just click the AOY icon.

Have a glorious week, and as always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Let’s Weight!!!

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!!

Happy Monday, and Happy December!!! Hopefully, you all had a chance to read the December YFL newsletter. If not, I will add a brief summary of our holiday schedule and events at the end of this blog!!!

This week is “Let’s Weight”, as we power-up our strength, stamina, and power with the use of hand weights and bearing our own body weight. All yoga is good for prevention of osteoporosis, but the use of weights fortifies this benefit.

Our Sanskrit focus is “Maitri” or the practice of friendliness and compassion toward our fellow human beings. The mudra support for this week is the “Pran” hand gesture. It is the mudra for stability, inner peace, stamina, and confidence.

Our music for meditation is “A Place in the Sun” by David Lanz, and our meditation focus is “Compassion”.

Kim’s next Mommy & Me will be on 12/12 from 11 a.m.-noon. Please pre-register and pre-pay for this event. Deb’s next Meditation I class will begin on 1/10, consult the website for all the details. Sophie’s next Ayurvedic Transformation series will begin on 1/19. The deadline for registering for the next Artistry of Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training program is 12/16. Consult the website for all course and class offering details.

The studio will be closed in observance of the holidays for the following dates: 12/23-12/26 and 12/30-1/1. Remember, we have some great, healthy gift ideas for your holiday shopping!!!

We offer our deepest condolences to Sophie with the passing of her dearest mom.

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb
