Greetings from YFL!!! This week we take our practice “To The Wall”!!! Using the wall as our wonderful prop of resistance, alignment, and focus!!! Triple “R” Week: Rest, Renew, and Restore!!!

Greetings from YFL!!! I would like to extend deep gratitude to Betty and Peter for the most amazing Tibetan Bowl Sound healing concert that they provided us this past Saturday. I can’t wait for the next concert in April at YFL!!!

This week is Triple “R” week at the studio as we restore, renew, and relax our way through the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Our Sanskrit focus is  AUM, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti toward world peace, and our own inner peace. The supporting hand gesture (mudra) is the “Grounding Mudra”. Our meditation focus is “PEACE”, and may be contemplated while listening to Tom Barabas’s “Clouds” from his CD “Nuages”.

This week’s Yin practice will balance the Chakras, and Deb will be using color focus, asana, and Tibetan bowls toward our energy wheel balance.

Next week we usher in the Winter Solstice-a time to slow down, retreat within, and prepare for the increasing light of the New Year, and all that it brings!!!

Reiki I will be offered on January 27 with Kim, Sophie will be offering a new version of her Yoga for Grief workshop after attending a training in North Carolina. Deb & Sophie will be offering a Spring Day Retreat. So much to be grateful for, and so much to look forward to in 2019!!!

Let’s Weight!!!

Let’s Weight!!! Greetings from YFL!!! It is the week for sculpting, toning, and strengthening with the use of hand weights during a portion of our practice. Of course, we always emphasize bearing our own body weight!!! Our Sanskrit theme is “OM Mani Padme Hum, which evoke compassion for all sentient beings, “May all beings be happy, may all beings be free from suffering”. Our supporting hand gesture (mudra) is the Surya Ravi, or sun mudra. This gesture evokes the union of fire and earth, promotes overall balance, elevates energy, and positive change. Our meditation focus is “Compassion”, and may be reflected upon while listening to “Kiran Murti’s Divine Imagination”.

This weeks Yin practice will focus on healthy digestion.

The December newsletter was mailed out via email on 12/1, if you are not receiving our monthly editions, please request placement on our list via yogaforlife06@verizon.net.
