Greetings from YFL!!! It is time to start a new month, and bring summer to a conclusion!!! As we usher in the “Downward Dog Days” of summer let’s release excessive Pitta energy with a strong and powerful weight-bearing class!!! Our Sanskrit focus is “Sat Chit Ananda”, or “Existence, Consciousness, and Bliss”. We will combine our focus points with the mudra (hand gesture) “USHAS”, which connects us to the beautiful energy of “all things good”. Our meditation focus for the week is “Natural Beauty”, and will be set to the music of Deva and Miten’s Karma Sutra.
Deb begins a new five week Meditation I series tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. Registration is still open!!! Call, email, or drop-in to register PRONTO!!!

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!! Happy Monday!!! This is Classic Hatha week as you come to your mat!!! The practice will emphasize graceful flowing movement, which is balanced with power and strength!!! The Sanskrit focus is “So Hum”, or I am. The supporting mudra (hand gesture) is the “Vitality Mudra”, which promotes increased, vital energy flow based upon deep and deliberate breathing. The meditation focus is “I am”, and may be focused upon with the classic music of “Claire de Lune”.
If you know anyone that wants to take the plunge into the transformative world of meditation, please share that Deb is beginning a new 5-week session next Tuesday, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The course will meet for five consecutive Tuesday evenings, 8/1-8/29, and the cost is $70, which includes the course manual.

Greetings from YFL!!! We have made it to another Monday, and an opportunity to practice Yoga for another week!!! This week’s theme is To “The Wall” and Beyond!!! We utilize the wall as a powerful friend of resistance, alignment, and stability. It improves our focus, power, and strength!!!
Our Sanskrit focus is “Karuna”, or the energy of compassion. Practice this focus on yourself first, so that it may then be shared within your family, circle of friends, community, region, state, nation, and the world.
Our mudra focus is the “Grounding” hand gesture, which allows to find our sense of connection and belonging.
Our meditation focus is to “Just Be”, and realize that all we have is the “Present Moment”!!! The music selected for meditation this week is David Lanz”s Cristiforis Dream.
A reminder that Deepak and Oprah began a new 21-day meditation challenge this morning. The topic is “Desire and Destiny”, and it is FREE!!!

Congrats!!! We all made it through our very rigorous weight week, and “sliding plank” challenge!!! This week it is time to practice the three “R’s” of Yoga: Rest, Renew, and Restore!!! Perfect timing for this continued heat wave that we are experiencing!!! Come in, cool down, and restore!!!
Our Sanskrit focus is “Samsara”, or the Winds of Change, the only true constant in life. Our mudra for this week is the hand gesture of Jnana, for evoking the energy of “Universal Knowledge and Wisdom”.
The music for your daily meditation is from James Hood’s “Imaginary”, and your meditation focus is “Just Relax”.
It is important to continue moving during this extreme heat wave, and yoga is a nice alternative to your normal outdoor activities, or a great addition to any exercise program!!!

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!! It is time to “Weigh In”, as we return to the use of hand weights, and emphasizing the bearing or our own body weight!!! It is a short week on the mat due to our holiday break!!! Come enjoy some NEW ways to incorporate weight practice into your discipline!!!
Our Sanskrit focus is “NIRODHA”, or living with “control” of the mind, body, and heart. Our hand gesture focus is the mudra, “USHAS”, or connecting to the energy of “all things good”. Our meditation focus is to “release into control”, and may be practiced while enjoying the music of Deva and Miten’s “Karma Sutra”. Deb’s Yin classes will emphasize “Spinal Bliss” this week.
The next 5-week Meditation I series will begin on Tuesday, 7/11/17. The class will meet for 5 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $70, which includes your manual. Pleased email, call, or drop-in to pre-register (required).
