Practitioners Choice!!!—More Classic Hatha or Bonus Restorative!!!

photo-591

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!!

Happy Monday!!! Hopefully, you all had an enjoyable holiday break, and you are ready to return to the mat this week, as we all begin to prepare for the next wave of holiday festivities!!!

We have an extra, 5th week, in November this week, so it is “Practitioners Choice”!!! You may choose to take the Classic Hatha-Flow into Power-from last week, or get some bonus respite time in with a classic Restorative practice. Practitioners vote, and majority wins the style for that class!!!

Our mudra will support vitality and our Sanskrit focus will support rest, thus balancing the two types of practices offered this week.

The mudra is Vayu, or the “wind” hand gesture, and it means “get a move on”. It will increase your vitality, strengthen tired limbs, and reduce conditions of arthritis. Our Sanskrit focus is “Parlaya”, which is to take a rest or respite, or to be dormant in preparation for new beginnings. A great focus for this time of year and season.

Our meditation focus is “Belonging”, and is set to the famous piece, DeBussy’s “Clair de Lune.

Kim’s next Reiki session is this Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m., and is a “donation” event. Her next Mommy & Me class is Monday, 12/12, from 11 a.m.-noon, $10 for Mom & 1 child, or $15 for Mom & 2 Children. You must Pre-pay and Pre-register with Kim prior to attending.

The Winter Solstice “Drum Circle”, hosted by Deb, will be a bit early, to work around the holidays. It will meet on Sunday, 12/11, from 5-6 p.m. Bring a drum and bring a friend!!! It is FREE!!!

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Flow into Power: Classic Hatha Week!!!

photo-638

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!! We have arrived at Classic Hatha week on the mat!!! This practice will emphasize “Flowing into Power”. It will begin with Vinyasa Flow, which will then take us into staying the asanas for building stamina and power.

Our Sanskrit focus is “PRASADA”, or to sit in ‘grace’, a true gift from our Higher Source. This is a wonderful place to sit in gratitude, as we celebrate Thanksgiving this week. Our Mudra focus will aid us in finding “Inner Peace”, our “Still Point”, as it calms our nerves-“The Drum Mudra”.

The meditation focus for this week is “Gratitude”, as you listen to the beautiful music of Ann Sweeten’s-“A Moment in Time”.

The studio will be closed 11/24-11/27, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our normal schedule will resume on Monday, 11/28.  The YFL faculty wishes you a most joyous and harmonious celebration!!! We express our gratitude for your continued support of our offerings!!!  As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Greetings from YFL!!! Yes, it is Monday morning after a holiday weekend, but have no fear, it is wall week at YFL!!! You will get all the support you need to re-energize for the week ahead!!! We will utilize the wall as a prop of resistance for strengthening, toning, and sculpting our muscles.

The Sanskrit focus is Shakti-to empower the energy of inner strength, power, and stability. The supporting hand gesture, or mudra is the Pran, for improving vision, increasing vitality, and decreasing fatigue.  Our meditation focus is “Shanti”, or Peace!!!  Your meditation will be accompanied by Tom Barabas, and his “Nuage” from Sedona Suites!!!

Kim begins her monthly, Mommy and Me class at 11 a.m. today!!!

As always we can’t wait to see you on the mat, and wish you a fabulous week!!!—Namaste’, Deb
