So “Let’s Weight Together” is our theme. Our Sanskrit focus is “Pranayama”, or “breath awareness and control”. The hand gesture or “mudra” for this week is the “grounding”. Give me an R, R, and another R!!! Relax, Restore, and Renew Week @ YFL!!!

Greetings from YFL!!! It is definitely time to take our 3 Rs to the mat this week!!! We had a most rigorous practice last week, and now it is time to let the body, mind, and heart Renew, Restore, and Relax!!! That is our physical focus as we practice this week. Our Sanskrit focus is Om Tat Sat, or “Thou Art That”, which indicates our intimate connection to the radiance and light of Higher Consciousness.  AUM (vibration of creation), Tat (radiance and light perceived in deep meditation), and Sat (Higher Consciousness). The mudra (hand gesture) focus is the “Ushas”, or connection to “all things good”. Such a beautiful practice for celebrating this week that focuses on LOVE. Practicing love for oneself, so that we may graciously extend the gesture to others in our lives. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Let’s Weigh In!!!

Greetings from YFL!!! It’s February, and time to “Weigh In”!!! This week as we step onto the sacred space of our yoga mats, we incorporate “bearing our own body weight” and the use of hand weights. Our Sanskrit focus is the Universal Salutation of “Namaste”. This beautiful term means that I honor the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, we are one.
