Patience + Perserverance

Greetings from YFL!!!

I am continuing to heal well, and would like to extend extreme gratefulness for everyone’s support, and well wishes during this difficult time!!! The official diagnosis is fracture of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsals of the right foot. I am in a walking boot, and will return to the doctor in one month to assess the healing process, and overall prognosis. I am trying to remain patient, in the present moment, and enjoying things I don’t normally get to experience!!! I am also trying to persevere the difficult times of inconvenience, pain, and uncertainty. I will continue to ask that you support Sophie and Summer’s classes, and any subs that take over my classes during my absence.

During my recovery, the YFL schedule will be condensed, and effective beginning on Monday, 11/11. All classes will remain the same except the following:

Mon-the same

Tues-4:15 p.m. class WILL NOT MEET

Wed-the same

Thurs-the same (Sophie will be teaching the 5:30 class through the end of the year)

Fri-the same

Sat-there will be ONE CLASS @ 9-10:15 a.m. (Sukha-Sirrha)

I will be returning to the mat this coming Saturday, 11/16, for the 9 a.m. class!!!

Our Sanskrit focus this week is ‘Sharavana Bhava’, or ‘My awareness transforms my world.’

Our Mudra (hand gesture) is the ‘Shakti’, or ‘Inner Self Home’. Extend the ring fingers and pinky fingers together, fold the remaining fingers into one another, and cross the thumbs beneath. Provides comfort, and warm support from the Universe.

Meditation focus is “Perseverance”, and the music for contemplation is James Hoods’ “Divine Imagination”.

It will be another great week at YFL, and as always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Weeks of Patience!!!

Greetings from YFL!!!

I hope all is well with each of you!!! Unfortunately, I had a bit of an accident at home that will put me out of service for minimally this week!!! My shoe slipped on the bottom step of staircase, my legs went out from under me, and my right ankle twisted fracturing 3 metatarsals in my right foot. This happened on 10/30/19. On Monday I will see the orthopedic surgeon to see if I need surgery, cast, or walking boot. I am praying for the walking boot, which means I can return to the studio in about a week. Otherwise it may be 4-6 weeks. I will try my best to have as many of my classes covered as possible, but please check the blog each week for which of my classes will be cancelled. If NOT listed in the cancellation list, then they WILL MEET!!! I will be practicing extreme patience  over the coming weeks, and ask that you do the same while scheduling is disrupted at YFL. Here are the cancellations for this week:

Mon (5/4): 8:15 & 9:30 a.m.

Tues (5/5): 4:15 p.m.

Wed (5/6): 9:30 a.m.

Thurs (5/7): ALL CLASSES WILL MEET

Fri (5/8): ALL CLASSES WILL MEET

Sat (5/9): ALL CLASSES WILL MEET

This week’s Sanskrit focus is ‘Pariksaha’, or patience!!! The hand gesture is the ‘Be Wise’ mudra or ‘Atmanjali’. This mudra opens the door to inner composure, strength, healing, wisdom, and joy. Press the inner edge of your thumbs together, and then your palms. Our meditation focus is Patience, and may be contemplated while listening to Kiran Murti’s ‘Divine Imagination’.

Enjoy Sophie and Summer’s teachings this week. Please continue to support them, and all of my subs during my absence!!! I will miss all of you dearly, and sharing my teachings!!!

I will keep you posted on my progress!!!

It will be another great week at YFL!!!  As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!! Namaste’, Deb
