Greetings yogis and yoginis!!!  This week with Deb is Classic Hatha yoga on the mat. The sequence that Deb has selected will enhance your flexibility, range of motion, and strength. It will include progressive and deeper back bending toward the wheel.

The Sanskrit focus is “VAK”, or the “Power of Speech”, and realizing that we may hone in on this powerful tool with mantra and chanting.

The mudra for this week is “Mushti”, or the fist hand gesture, which activates the liver and stomach, raises their energy, and promotes good digestion.

Our meditative focus is the following quotation: “A wise man once said nothing.”—Anonymous   The meditation music is “Om Shanti” by Bhava Ram

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Greetings!!!

What fun we had this past week celebrating YFL’s 8th Anniversary!!! Now we move forward into our 9th year together!!!  We are humbled at your continuing support of our teachings!!!

This week join Deb at the wall, as we use it as an isometric prop, for intensifying our poses through its resistance.  The mudra this week is “Vajrapradama”, or the gesture of unshakeable trust. The Sanskrit focus is “Ram”, or delightful!!!

This week’s meditation focus is unity or oneness, and your dharana is the inserted music by Bhava Ram, “Imagine”.  Enjoy!!! As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat.—Namaste’, Deb

Let’s restore, and celebrate!!!

Greetings!!!

This week we celebrate YFL’s 8th Anniversary!!! Come and win prize drawings all week during Deb’s classes!!! This week we will be restoring, relaxing, and renewing on our mats with “Restorative Yoga”.

Our Sanskrit focus is “Santosha”, or finding contentment in all that we experience, or at least trying to do so!!!

Our Mudra is “Ganesh”, which is the hand gesture for removal of obstacles, strengthening the heart and lungs, and improving circulation, and respiration.

Our Meditation focus is RELAX!!! Each moment that you feel tense in your daily routine just remember to stop, slow down your breath, and breath deeply. You will be surprised at what a positive difference this one adjustment will provide!!!

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Debphoto-560

Weight Week!!!

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!!

I am fresh back from Sedona filled with energy and restoration!!! We had a wonderful retreat, and I can’t wait to share the stories and experiences and photos with all of you!!!

This week we return to strengthening, toning, and sculpting by bearing our own body weight, and using external hand weights. Our Sanskrit focus is “Sukham Stirham Asanam”, or “Sweet, steady, asana”. This is the blending of ease and strength within each pose we take, and is the true essence of any yoga practice.

Our weekly mudra is the HRIM, or heart mudra, which evokes and invokes a releasing of the heartstrings to promote Oneness, Unity, and connection.

Sophie’s “Seasonal Transition Ayurvedic” workshop is this Saturday from 2-4 p.m. @ a cost of $25/person. She will cover the Ayurvedic perspectives of staying balanced through a seasonal change with diet, yoga, and meditation practices. There is still time to sign-up!!!

Next week YFL will be celebrating its 8th-Year anniversary, so come join the fun, and activities!!! As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Debphoto-456
