“TEMECULA’S BEST KEPT SECRET” by Leslie Salmon

When I tell people about Yoga For Life (YFL), I will often add the phrase ‘its’ Temecula’s best kept secret’.

Why? Because we (the studio) are lodged in an office complex; we are small; we don’t shout our existence to the world. Students quietly, yet diligently, make their way into our classes. The good that yoga will provide is the motivation– not space, not glitz–just ‘the good’.

And, what is good? Qualified instructors, a clean space, abundant props, not-too-pricey, workshops to expand your yoga experience, camaraderie with ‘yoga buddies’; PLUS the added health benefits of a regular practice.

I recently participated in a webinar conducted by a yoga instructor and a physician, both from New York. The physician (also a yoga instructor) commented during the webinar that we take medicine for many ailments: “In the beginning, the medicine is like magic, we are ecstatic with the results but then become disillusioned. The prospect of taking a pill for the rest or our life becomes a poisonous thought.”

He continued: “Now, take yoga, which in the beginning is like poison-challenging and, at times, embarrassing to our ego. But, as we settle into the practice, a shift happens and the poison (yoga) becomes the magic.”

YFL doesn’t recommend yoga over needed medicines, but- as one who does take 2 pills every day- I can attest that I feel better for adding in the yoga to my daily routine. And, I like to believe it’s one of the reasons I don’t have to take MORE than those 2 pills.

All this to say, welcome to ‘Temecula’s best-kept secret’. We love your studentship, we admire your tenacity, we savor each encounter.

Having been fortunate to find this studio online and to benefit greatly in my short time as a yogi is more than enough for me at this time. I am grateful for the friendly, forgiving and caring way that teaching yoga is approached at YFL. My fellow students are all wonderful people. I can see why YFL has some very long-term students, because the environment is a wonderful one to be in! Thanks to all!

Yoga for Life is Temecula’s best kept secret, and I am grateful to have been in on the secret for
5+ years! Yoga and meditation classes, workshops, retreats, and field trips–YFL offers so many benefits to the whole self: physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual, all in a friendly community. It doesn’t get better than this! Thank you!

I thank Leslie for this heartfelt explanation of what I have worked very hard to create, as owner and lead instructor at YFL. I deeply appreciate Leslie’s master instruction at the studio, and this wonderful commentary of what is ‘good’ about yoga, and its experience at YFL.—Namaste’, Deb
