The Plank Challenge

Greetings from YFL!!!  Deb is offering a goal at YFL of mastering a 3-minute plank, and you can pursue this in one of two ways, if interested, or set your own goal within the framework provided. Attached to this post is the 30-day version of the challenge, and Deb will be offering a slow-paced modification, which will build the hold for an increase of 15-seconds each week. This week we are beginning with 30 seconds, next week 45 seconds, etc. until we reach 3-minutes. At this pace we will reach our goal in about 12 weeks.     It really does help to have someone(s) to converse with to make the time fly, rather hard to watch tv in that position!!!!

      You may do the plank in one of 3 variations: forearm, hands, or half plank with the shins on the mat. Have fun with this challenge. Take it slowly, and at your pace. Don’t try to advance too quickly. I have implemented a 12-week plan at the studio. We will advance 15 seconds/week until we reach our goal of 3-minutes!!!—Namaste’, Deb
