Let’s Weigh In!!!

Greetings from YFL!!! It’s February, and time to “Weigh In”!!! This week as we step onto the sacred space of our yoga mats, we incorporate “bearing our own body weight” and the use of hand weights. It is all about strengthening, toning, and sculpting. We will also add some new components for strengthening the knee joints to help prevent misalignment of the knee cap. Our Sanskrit focus is the Universal Salutation of “Namaste”. This beautiful term means that I honor the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, we are one. Our mudra (hand gesture) focus for the first week of February is the “Grounding Gesture”. The meditation focus in “Namaste”, and set to Thierry David’s “Zen World”.

If you know someone that would like to try yoga and/or improve their basic skills and understanding of yoga principles, then Intro to Yoga is the ticket. Deb will start a new 4-week session on 2/20. Registration deadline is 2/17. The cost is $40, and includes the course manual. We will meet for four consecutive Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Call or email to register.
