Are you ready to relax?!!! It is that time at YFL for renewing, restoring, and relaxing with our monthly “Restorative Practice”. As the photo reminds us, “You’re only one class away from a good mood.”

Our Sanskrit focus is: VAK, or “The Power of Speech”. This focus reminds us to be mindful of our thoughts, our speech, our actions.

Our weekly mudra focus: PRAN MUDRA, or the gesture of enhancing our “Life Force”.

This week I begin adding a weekly meditation focus to the YFL blog. Let your Dharana ( point of focus) rest on the mantra, SHUM, which means “I am inspired.” Develop your breath rhythm, and begin to silently repeat the mantra, as you visualize things that inspire you: art, people, places, nature, etc. You might even listen to music that inspires you for this mediation. Sit comfortably with SHUM for 5 to 30 minutes.—Aum Shanti, Debphoto-556

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: YFL will be hosting the “Global Meditation” on 9/21 @ NOON!!! Meditators around the world will be gathering to meditate together at noon their regional time, and focus on World Peace. Deb’s goal is to fill YFL with meditators, and spill out into the courtyard. Bring something comfortable to sit on outside, if our gathering is too large for the studio. Following our meditation together we can proceed to lunch, and then enjoy the Jain Hanuman Kirtan Concert at  3 p.m. So, please mark your calendars for this special event, and plan to attend.—Namaste’, Deb
