See you @ “THE WALL”!!!

photo-628

Greetings from YFL!!!

The truth is most of us don’t love Mondays, including myself!!! However, a great way to look at the first day of the work week is: a fresh start, the chance to set a new tone for the rest of the week, and a great day to be alive!!! You might start this process by joining me at “The Wall” this Monday morning, and all week, to increase our asana resistance with the wall as our prop. Our Sanskrit focus is RAMA, or whatever is delightful or pleasing in our lives. The mudra is the hand gesture for connecting to Universal wisdom and knowledge. Our meditation focus is “SLOW DOWN”!!! The music selection is from the “Massage Tribe”.

Kim Plancich is hosting a Holistic Relief Workshop at YFL this Sunday, 8/23, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The donation is $15. She will guide you through various holistic modalities for relieving stress, anxiety, and fear. Call or email the studio to register.

Please share our “Artistry of Yoga” info video about our new school for training yoga instructors. It is now part of our AOY page on the YFL website.

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat!!!—Namaste’, Deb

Wall Dynamics!!!

photo-624

Greetings from YFL!!! This week we marvel at the “wonder” of the dynamics of “The Wall” as a tool of resistance for asana practice. It provides isometric dimensions within the poses, and this results in a deeper, safer intensity within the body. Although, dynamic and strong, the “Wall” practice is also deeply contemplative. This will foster our Sanskrit focus, “Ananda Hum”, or I am “JOY”. Our mudra focus for this week is “Matangi”, which will help us to develop our inner peace, harmony, and stillness. Our meditation focus is “Inner Harmony”. Enjoy meditating to one of Deb’s favorite songs-Claire de Lune.

There is no PIYO at YFL 7/19 or 7/26. It will return on August 2nd!!!

The deadline for registering for our new school of “Artistry of Yoga” is September 9th. Our space is limited, so please register soon, if you intend to participate in 2015.

As always, we can’t wait to see you on the mat.—Namaste’, Deb

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis!!!

We have arrived at yet another week of Restorative yoga. As we practice restoration this week let’s focus on “Relaxing into Greatness”, as we express gratitude for the health and well-being that we are creating within our minds, bodies, and hearts through our practice. Let gratitude open us to “Grace”, or the amount of light within our souls. I invite you to sign-up for Oprah Winfrey’s and Deepak’s new 21-day Meditation Challenge entitled “Gratitude into Grace”. It is free, and a wonderful experience. It began today, so there is still time to register. Just google their names, and you will be guided through the registration process.

Our Sanskrit focus this week comes from their 21-day meditation, Day 1, “Dhanya Vad”, or “I feel gratitude”. Our Mudra is “Pushpaputa”, the hand gesture for evoking “Openness and Acceptance” of joy, light, and love. Our meditation focus is “Gratitude into Grace” accompanied by the soothing music of James Hood. Have a great week, and we are so grateful at YFL to see you on the mat this week!!!—Namaste’, Deb
